Saturday Mornings Kids Drop-in Club

Every First Saturday of Each Month


The Kids Drop-In Club have been included in the 2024 of the Swieqi Chess Club calendar, being held every first Saturday of each month, in the morning between 10am and 11:30am.

The kids drop-in club is an informal weekly session where kids can feel free to join in and participate with other like-minded kids who enjoy playing chess. The sessions will vary from week to week and will include things like tactics, strategy, exercises and playing chess with other kids. The sessions supplement any classes the kids take by allowing them to practice the game.  Kids do not have to be a member of the club and kids are not required to come every week should they not want to.

Date, Time and Location

Every first Saturday of each month, in the morning between 10am and 11:30am.

Note:

Although in 2024 these sessions have dedicate space in the calendar, it is important to check website and the facebook group "Swieqi Chess Club", for potential clashes with tournaments and other activities that can cancel the Drop-In session.

Cost

Swieqi Chess Club Member: €3 per session

Non-Members: €6 per session

Terms and Conditions

  1. Boys and Girls between the ages of 5 and 16 (from any locality) may attend the weekly sessions.

  2. An attendance sheet is to be signed by the parent / guardian when bringing their child(ren) for the session. 

  3. If a child is deemed not to be interested in the Chess sessions, the Swieqi Chess Club has the right not to accept the child for any further sessions and the parent(s) shall be notified.  

  4. Parent(s) are to read Section 6 of the Swieqi Chess Club Policy to their child(ren). Any child who does not adhere the conditions will not be accepted into any further sessions.
