Reynash and Portelli win Kids Rapids U/12 & U/18 April 2024 Events

The Swieqi Chess Club Kids Rapids for April 2024, included two separate events for Under 12s and Under 18s respectively. Both tournaments were held at the same time in the morning. The Under 12s was well attended with 22 players, with the winner being 8-year old Keshav Reynash. Benjamin Calleja Falzon and Jack Demicoli finished joint second, but came second and third respectively based on tie-break.

The Under 18s was again a strong event with 12 players playing the FIDE rated event. Matthew Portelli won the event followed by John Refalo and Zach Pace who came third on tie-break. The other players finishing joint third were Vince Kosik, Jerome Chircop and Miguel Ahmad Costa.
