The monthly Swieqi Chess Club Kids Rapids were held on the 8th February with the usual separate Under 12s and Under 18s events.
The Under 12s fielded 12 players, with three players tying on first place on 4 points! The winner on tie-break was Hangchang Wang, who won the event for the first time, second again on tie-break was January's winner Tristan Jes Scicluna. Miles Dalli Poole took the third prize.

13 players played the Under 18s event. The top place was again mainly contented between Matthew Portelli and Vince Kosik. Vince Kosik won the event on 4.5 points, making it two in a row this year. On second place, just half a point behind was Matthew Portelli, who scored four points losing only to the winner. John Refalo, who is also regularly getting close to the winning spot, took third place on 3.5 points, with a better tie-break over Oliver Austin who had a great tournament.
